Jun Jie Yang designer of JUN JIE says the SS19 collection was “inspired by 70s retro futurism sci-fi with house deco” looking back at the past, Yang wanted to propose a modern wardrobe of the future for a young generation.

However, the fashion label has only been around for a year with Yang graduating from Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in 2017. Quickly afterwards, Yang debuted in the SS18 VFILES Runway show and then was quickly cosigned by the likes of Rihana, Gucci Mane, Lil Yatchy and RemyMa, just name a few. Yang has also been noticed by publications such as Vogue Runway, Vogue Paris, WWD, i-D, DAZED and even Billboard.

The luxury brand is based in New York and focuses on both womens’ and menswear. Emphasizing a unique approach to a new fashion generation, this season JUN JIE proposed a new silhouette by exaggerating proportions. While continuing to work with interesting fabrications, JUN JIE also works with prints that will help emphasize Yang’s research, with the ultimate goal of moving the conversation of fashion forward.

Models stood, and sat across the layout of Stage D. Sporting shiny chunky block shaped boots, blazers, leathers mixed with satin and metallic textures. Their eyebrows all painted a mix of bold silvers, reds or even blues. Some hair decorated with small gold feathers that stop their hair from covering their faces. The earrings were big and clear crystal like. Some models wore leather multicolored gloves on their hands. With the mink fur courtesy of Kopenhagen Fur and the handbags in collaboration with CUTO Technology.

Overall, I do truly to believe that JUN JIE is a brand for us all to keep our eyes on and, I can’t wait to get my hands on a pair of those boots once they are available to the public!
